SCLA is a Los Angeles–based landscape architecture practice founded by Steven Chavez. Steven holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington and a Master of Fine Arts in Photography, with an emphasis on urban landscape photography, from the University of Ulster.
Steven teaches landscape architecture at UCLA Extension and serves as the Founder and Executive Director of the National Association of Minority Landscape Architects (NAMLA). His work is guided by a commitment to cultural expression and environmental stewardship, seeking to create landscapes that foster meaningful relationships between people, place, and the broader ecological community.
