Silver Linings Gateway

Los Angeles, CA, 2013

Silver Linings Gateway is a concept proposal submitted by Steven Chavez and Nous Engineering to the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative (LANI) for a project in the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Steven Chavez performed a site analysis prior to concept development and revealed cyclical patterns of growth and rebirth in Koreatown. Other observations included Koreatown’s lead in moving Los Angeles to a more sustainable form of urbanism for the 21st century: higher-density, increased walkability, and economic opportunity.

The goal of the Silver Linings Gateway is to be a symbol of Koreatown’s cutting edge towards the future whilst paying tribute to the resiliency and cultural histories that make Koreatown a community of opportunity and prosperity.
